Is it a good idea to melt old lipsticks with vaseline to make it last longer?

I have lipsticks that I have had for a few years. I don't wear it everyday. Is it a good idea to melt old lipsticks with vaseline to make it last longer?
Old lipsticks can become contaminated with bacteria even just setting around in a drawer. It's not a good idea to use any lipstick over two years old or to melt it and mix it with petroleum jelly. Heating alters the chemical compound and could change the color dramatically. It's true that heat destroys bacteria;but, why chance it and why go to all the trouble? There are plenty of rather inexpensive lipsticks around, I'm sure you can find a similar color even if yours has been discontinued. Is it a good idea to melt old lipsticks with vaseline to make it last longer?
woah is that an ancient witchcraft? lol no offense but that doesn't seem natural.
never heard of that that sounds weird
I don't see any idea why you shouldn't
If you don't use it very often, throw it out. The longer it sits there, the more bacteria it attracts and if you melt it, you can alter the colors and chemicals in it.
It's fine to do that, it actually makes it into a gloss rather than lipstick.
i dont think its a good idea..because melting your lip stick will damage it and so it will dry your lips the best thing is to put it in the nearest trash can lolespecially that u have it for a FEW YEARS :s..but if u apply vaseline, my tip is to just add vaseline with out this melted lipstick and buy you self a kind of cheap kinds because u dont use them everyday..
It's probably not a very good idea. Lipstick doesn't last very long, and should be changed every so often. It's probably best to just keep replacing your lipsticks, even if you just buy cheap ones if you don't wear it very often.
