What's a good long-lasting lipstick that does NOT work like a dye?

I've found a lot of long-lasting lip colors that seem to cling to my lips and really dry them out (is that why they all come with a gloss top coat?!). I need something closer to a traditional, smoother lipstick but that stays really well. Any suggestions? What's a good long-lasting lipstick that does NOT work like a dye?
dont go for longerlasting lipstick, it will only dry out ur lips. instead try shesdio or mac i also recommend burts bees beeswax lip blam before u put on anything on ur lips, this is a nice conditioning product 4 ur lips, and it has a minty cooling refreshing feel on ur lips. What's a good long-lasting lipstick that does NOT work like a dye?
hmm... long lasting and not stain the lips...

well most long lasting lippy stain unfortunately and so far the best way and most traditional which i uses is to apply a lip balm as a base followed by loose powder and then your lippy which you apply two coats. remember to blot in between~ it makes it neater and stay longer! i hope this helps~
Lemme tell you something I discovered a couple years ago:

Cover Girl markets a color/gloss duo with a blue lids and silver trim...comes in a dark blue box. Or that's what it used to look like, anyway. For looks, you can't beat it, BUT

I kinda figured out their secret... the reason that lipstick doesn't budge... eventually I figured out what that smell was: the color smells like NAIL POLISH! No wonder it stays for three friggin days!!

I found the SECRET to getting that stuff OFF, too, and that is: SoftLips. The stuff in the very slender white tube. It's great for removing that crap AND moisturizing your lips. So you can go that route if you really wanted to.

OR

You can do like I do and use a very subtle shade of lipliner, and fill in your lips with the color. Then you can kick it with chapstick in your pocket all day %26amp; you're good.

Invariably, any long-lasting lip color you find is going to dry out your lips. There's usually alcohol or something in it that does that. If you lick your lips a lot, too, they'll dry out.

I always liked the JANE cosmetics
If there is a store called The Body Shop near you, try it. I found that their lipstick stayed on most of the day, even afeter eating.
